Proposed Holiday Calendar
Here is my proposed FMSD Holiday Calendar that was not even considered by then Board President Rudy Rodriguez (who is running for reelection in 2026) and Vice President George Sanchez. The purpose of this proposed calendar was to honor all people, ethnicities and persuasions and NOT to have potential offensive holidays/celebrations.
I feel this list is non-discriminatory and safe!

FEBRUARY: African-American History Month and American Youth Leadership Month
MARCH: American Women History Month and National Reading Month
APRIL: American Mathematics Awareness Month, American Autism Awareness Month and American-Arab Heritage Month
MAY: Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, American Military Appreciation Month and Jewish-American Heritage Month
JUNE: American-Gay Pride Month and American Christian Heritage Month
JULY: American-Independence, Freedom and Liberty Month
AUGUST: American Back to School Month and American Family Fun Month
SEPTEMBER: Hispanic-American Heritage Month (9/15 to 10/15) and Americans with Disabilities Month
OCTOBER: Filipino-American Heritage Month and American Family History Month
NOVEMBER: Native-American Heritage Month and American Give Thanks Month
DECEMBER: America’s Holiday Celebrations Month and America’s Learn a Foreign Language Month
